Our first ever blog!

Our first ever blog!

February 1 2016

We are an education and training company that has been set up to support all people to understand the power that relationships have in building strong foundations and growing healthy, happy children and adults.

Our intent is to learn more about attachment theory and brain development so that we can help to create a relationship-based framework to support all parents, teachers and caregivers on their journey.

We know that our relationships shape us, defining who we are and who we will become - not only through infancy and childhood, but right through our lifespan. We understand that the art of building and growing relationships exists across all ages and stages of life… and that sometimes we all need help to build relationships in a healthy way – they are, after all, the compass that we need to navigate our way through life’s ever-changing direction.

John Bowlby, often referred to as the father of attachment theory (the body of work that studies what it means to be in relationship with others), talks about intimate attachments to others being the hub around which a person’s life revolves, not only as an infant or a toddler or a school-aged child, but throughout adolescence and years of maturity as well, and on into old age.

Research now tells us that children who are in strong, secure relationships with key adults in their lives are more likely to grow into healthy, happy, resilient, empathetic adults.

Imagine what our world could look like if every child had this kind of relationship in their lives.

Imagine what our world could look like if every adult had a support person and someone to walk alongside them to help them to grow these kinds of relationships.

We are born into the world with an innate need to be in relationship with others, to create joy-filled and long-lasting bonds. It is from our relationships with others that we draw strength and enjoyment of life.

We all need to know that we have someone on whom we can depend – someone that we can trust to support us through our moments of chaos and mess.

Over the coming months we hope to look at what happens when we get relationships right and how we can continue to grow ourselves through nurturing the important relationships that we have in our lives. For Life Education & Training is dedicated to using current information and research in the fields of early brain development and attachment theory to explore the potential that we all have to authentically be in relationship with others.

Let’s learn to love the journey!
